Unity in Diversity American Flag Series Arianna Caroli 2001-2011
August 29, 2011  |
Almost immediately after the attacks in New York City on September 11, 2001, artist Arianna Caroli, observed a silver lining to the dark cloud that hung over the Big Apple. Italian by birth, working NYC artist with a US Green Card, and global citizen in act and deed, Arianna was deeply moved and inspired by the way New Yorkers of different nationalities were assertng their unity after the
attacks on the World Trade Center Towers.

"From the most elegant buildings on Park Avenue to the small shops in Chinatown, the American Flag is the symbol of this Unity". This core belief serves as the concept for her magnum work known as "Unity in Diversity" rendered in over 1500 photographs taken all over the streets of New York City (and subsequently in Miami and Chicago).

As a prelude to to a university‐wide digital art exhibition at the Florida InternaQonal University in September 2011, the AJ Japour Gallery is pleased to make a selection of the photographic works available to the public. Each work is available in either a small or large size format in a limited edition of 3 + 2AP mounted on plexi‐glass and ready for hanging in your home or office.
