Glass Past to exhibit at the 2013 Winter Antiques Show, Park Avenue Armory, New York, January 24 February 3

Jim Oliveira and Sara Blumberg of Glass Past are delighted to announce that they will be joining the venerable Winter Antiques Show in 2013.    As experts in 20th century Italian glass, the pair are honored to have been invited and proud to be the first exhibitors at the Winter Antiques Show devoted to this field.

Glass Past will exhibit pieces from 1870 to 1970 with major companies represented including Venini, Barovier, Seguso, Fratelli Toso and others.  Throughout their twenty year career, Jim and Sara have been devoted to presenting works from their original years of production with an emphasis on the collaboration between designers, company directors and master blowers.  Pieces chosen for  exhibition at the Winter Antiques Show will illustrate the rich history of 20th century Italian glass within the greater context of decorative and world art of the period.

Works to be exhibited include a rare and monumental Battuto vase designed by Carlo Scarpa, c. 1940 and a rare and large Intarsio vase designed by Ercole Barovier in 1963,  along with important works by Vittorio Zecchin,Tomaso Buzzi, Napoleone Martinuzzi, Paolo Venini, and Fulvio Bianconi.
