Time Travel: 3000 Years of Civilization at the 26th International Fine Art & Antiques Show - October 17 - 23, 2014
October 14, 2014  |

Sixty-five of the world’s top dealers – many of them founding exhibitors – will converge on the Park Avenue Armory for the breathtaking event that collectors, connoisseurs, interior designers and art lovers anticipate all year long. The International Fine Art & Antiques Show, founded in 1989, was New York's first vetted fair and remains one of the world's most prestigious and influential art and antique events.

Top-flight international dealers from Europe are devoted exhibitors for whom IFAAS is an essential U.S. platform from which to see existing clients and to meet new ones on their home turf. The "one stop shopping" aspect to the International Show is one compelling reason to visit the fair as it would take a serious collector months, even years, to visit every dealer at the fair in their home countries. The Haughtons extraordinary attentions to detail, exceptional specialist dealers, breathtaking variety and exacting standards have established the International Show as the top American showcase of its kind.

This glamorous and carefully-curated show brings together works of art that span continents and millennia -- among them many of museum quality. Furniture, paintings, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, glass, clocks, watches, arms, armour, rare books, manuscripts, jewelry, objets de vertu, Fabergé, silver, antiquities and ethnographic art, are among the many different categories exhibited and for sale. Prices start from as little as a few hundred dollars but rise into the millions.

The show welcomes fourteen new exhibitors.  From the best in Venetian glass to rare historical manuscripts, the new exhibitors to IFAAS represent the very best in each of their respective collecting fields. Carefully selected, these exceptional new exhibitors bring exciting new specialties and even greater variety to an already deeply diverse show.

The Preview Party for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center:
On Thursday, October 16, 2014, The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) hosted the 26th Annual Preview Party for The International Fine Art and Antiques Show. The Society has been the Preview Party’s beneficiary since the fair began in 1989. The Preview Party is one of New York’s most anticipated fall events, attracting over 1,000 high profile guests from the fashion, art, philanthropic and design worlds. 100% of the proceeds from the event benefit The Society’s patient care, research and education programs at MSK. The Haughtons
As fair organizers and ceramic dealers, Anna and Brian Haughton have been at the top of their profession for over 30 years and are widely respected as true pioneers and visionaries in the industry. With the The International Fine Art and Antiques Show, the Haughtons introduced the practice of "vetting" at American fairs at a time when vetting at fairs was still a strictly European practice, not readily accepted by the shows in America. Twenty- six years later, the fair’s Vetting Committee members, some of the most prestigious experts in the world, continue to maintain the most stringent conditions in the industry. Although they are well-known for their expertise running highly-successful specialty fairs in New York and London, the Haughton Organization is now focused on their general art and antique fairs: the flagship International Show every October and Art Antiques London in June, now in its fifth year.
