As the online sponsor, NewFocusOn is thrilled to bring you highlights from the New York Ceramics & Glass Fair 2015. The only show of its kind in the United States, the fair features ceramics and glass from antiquity to today, and is a must for anyone with any interest in ceramics and glass.  This year, for the first time, Contemporary ceramics and glass will be emphasized on the 3rd floor of the Bohemian National Hall. One of the highlights of contemporary work, will be the presentation of Cocoons and Exploded Earth (also known as Bang Pots) by world renowned sculptor, Steve Tobin.  Among other permanent installations, Mr. Tobin created Trinity Root at St. Paul's Chapel in downtown Manhattan.  Using the actual root of the tree that saved the chapel during the 9.11 attack, Steve's Trinity Root is a testament to life and humanity.  Other highlights include Made In China: The New Export Ware curated by Leslie Ferrin, Chen Yan Arts from China making his first appearance in New York, and a special exhibition of Contemporary Czech Design.  Many of the artists will be on hand to talk about their work including Prof. Chen Yan, Sin-ying Ho, and Andrea Zemel.  Michelle Erickson, Cliff Lee, Katherine Houston and Haggerty Ceramics, contemporary potters and veterans of the show, will be returning to the show.  Modern work is presented by Sylvia Powell Decorative Arts, TOJ Gallery and Sarah Eigen.  Glass takes on a larger presence with early works at the booths of Mark West and Ian Simmonds.  Contemporary glass by artists Andrea Zemel, Nefeli Massia and Densaburou Oku can be found at Iliad New York and Abby Modell's Galaxy Collection will be at Clark Priftis Art.  A comprehensive lecture series complimentary with admission adds to the energy and experience of the show!  Don't miss one of New York's most beloved fairs.  I'll be there! ...Meg
