Asian art covers a huge geographical territory that includes China, Japan, Korea, India, Tibet, Nepal, Burma,Thailand,Vietnam,Laos,Turkey Pakistan, Afghanistan and on and on. The diversity of the art is amazing and overwhelming in its scope. Some works are decorative, while others tell the story of the lives of the ruling elite. There are paintings, statues and textiles devoted to the religious influence of the Asian cultures; Buddhism,Hinduism and Islam. This is the last week for Asia Week New York, so be sure to visit the Arts of Pacific Asia Show, and as many of the exhibitions as you is a worthwhile experience.
